El revestimiento es un recubrimiento que se aplica a la superficie de un objeto, normalmente conocido como el sustrato. En muchos casos, los revestimientos se aplican para mejorar las propiedades de la superficie del sustrato, como la apariencia, la adhesión, la impermeabilidad, la resistencia a la corrosión, la resistencia al desgaste y la resistencia a los rayones.
