La presión arterial sistólica se refiere a la presión arterial más alta medida en las arterias y se produce durante la fase de bombeo de los latidos del corazón. Se mide en milímetros de mercurio (mmHg) y es el número superior en la lectura de la presión de sangre estándar. Por ejemplo, en una lectura de presión arterial de 120/80, 120 se refiere a la presión arterial sistólica.
