ácido ribonucleico (ARN)
A usually single-stranded polymeric molecule consisting of ribonucleotide building blocks. RNA is chemically very similar to DNA. The three major types of RNA in cells are ribosomal RNA (rRNA), transfer RNA (tRNA), and messenger RNA (mRNA), each of which performs an essential role in protein synthesis (translation). In some viruses, RNA is the genetic material.
