Sekvenca nukleotida, kodova u tripletima (kodonima) duž glasničke RNA, koji određuje sekvencu aminokiselina u sintezi proteina. Genska sekvenca DNA može se koristiti za predviđanje sekvence glasničke RNA, a genetski kod se povratno može koristiti za predviđanje sekvence aminokiselina.
